Why Run?
About the H.O.Y.A. Clinic: The H.O.Y.A. clinic, a partnership between Georgetown University, Georgetown University Hospital and the DC community, opened in 2007 in the DC Village Emergency Shelter for Homeless Families in Southwest DC. This student-run clinic is the first of its kind in DC. Coordinated by a team of Georgetown medical students, faculty and staff, H.O.Y.A. Clinic has offered comprehensive, continuous care to underserved families. The clinic continues to provide services to members of the DC community from its new location at the site of the former DC General Hospital.

Access to health knowledge has empowered patients to take an active role in their own well-being. At the same time, participation in compassionate health care delivery at the H.O.Y.A. Clinic has and continues to educate Georgetown medical students about the socioeconomic and health disparities inherent in medicine today and how they, as future physicians, might work toward greater equity in health care. Please help us to support this great cause!
